Top 12 alternative dining options to toast the festive season in Dubai, plus a competition

Iris Dubai

A wee while ago, I started thinking about a festive round-up that handpicks restaurants in Dubai not offering astronomically expensive brunches, lunches and dinners over Christmas and New Year, and where you get to eat what you want avoiding a set menu. Around the same time, a competition opportunity cropped up, so as I am a firm believer in killing two birds with one stone (turkey in this case I guess), here’s the deal. Click here to read my post which I am hoping will help ease your decision-making process and if you love it, then vote for FooDiva by leaving a lovely comment on the Expat Blog Awards post (not mine) even though you can do that as well! If you think your friends and family would find the post useful, feel free to forward on. And if you’re feeling extra kind, you can also tweet and like on Facebook via the links at the end of the post. The contest concludes end of play this coming Friday evening (20th December).

A couple of housekeeping points from the Expat Blog team:

  1. They are looking for sincere comments explaining why you think this entry should win, with a minimum of ten words to avoid peeps just quickly typing ‘great!’ for instance. Otherwise it won’t be published. And pretty please, even if you love FooDiva, don’t repeat ‘great’ ten times ;).
  2. If you’ve never commented on their website before you will be sent an email verification so do check your spam folder.

I don’t want to bore you with any more detail, but if you’d like additional info on the competition mechanics itself, there’s more here.

Merci beaucoup et à bientôt.

Great overview, which is really informative and has already helped narrow down the options on where to spend Christmas lunch. Thanks Foodiva

Pleasure Johann. Would love to know where you end up dining 🙂

What an interesting choice. I must say that I also hate it when I have to order a set menu. Good luck Foodiva.

There’s nothing worse than having no choice…I don’t mind set menus too much if there’s a number of options for each course. But what hurts is when you’re being overcharged. Will need all the luck I can get 🙂

Spoilt for choice. Buffets are not for Xmas…. !

I would go as far as saying buffets should be banned any day of the year…food stations I can cope with. Thanks for commenting 🙂

I’d love to receive your feedback, so feel free to comment any time.
