A dash of lime with your tonic

Lime & Tonic DubaiDubai; For those of you who love a good and unusual dining experience, but can’t be bothered with the hassle of rallying friends and family together, then social experience company Lime & Tonic comes to the rescue. Already operating in London, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro and Prague, Dubai MD, Tariq Sanad explains the concept, “we’re here to freshen up what can often be a boring dining experience and have hand-picked the very best to create memorable occasions.”

Expect a murder mystery dinner across Jumeirah Zabeel Saray’s restaurants, a degustation champagne lunch at Vu’s, a cooking class at Marco Pierre White’s Titanic, interactive dining at Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor and even molecular mixology. All you have to do is sign up for free on their website, and every time a new event is organised you will be notified. Simply pay as you go, with no upfront membership fees, and similar to airline frequent flyer programmes, points are earned as credits. Best of all, Lime & Tonic donates a portion of each experience to the Dubai Autism Centre and SNF Children Development Centre.

Having indulged in Lime & Tonic’s first preview experience in the form of a seven-course degustation lunch with free-flowing Moet at Emirates Towers’ top floor restaurant Vu’s*, the attention-to-detail is second to none including a visit to the kitchen for a menu briefing by the Chef de Cuisine. Not to be confused with one of Dubai’s standard champagne-fuelled brunches, the pace is relaxed with every dish served at your table whilst you and your friends take in the stunning Dubai skyline. And if you want extras like we did with the Sevruga caviar and the most moreishly freshly baked blinis to rival any FooDiva tasted in St Petersburg (potato is the secret ingredient), oh and the Gillardeau oysters, just ask – there’s no extra charge. We even savoured Obsiblue prawns as part of our colourful seafood starter – a blue-coloured New Caledonian prawn served raw with a distinct sweet taste. Enjoy the pictorial tour of our feast here. This particular experience will be repeated on September 21st priced at AED 750 per person.

Last but not least, if you love a good competition, you could win dinner to the value of AED 2000 at your favourite restaurant in Dubai! All you need to do is click on this link and fill in your fave Dubai restaurant. If that wasn’t enough, ask your friends to enter, and if any of them win, Lime & Tonic will award YOU dinner at your favourite restaurant too! So you never know, FooDiva may take you. Sounds like a damn good deal, n’est-ce pas?

Lime & Tonic Dubai launches this Friday with experiences ranging from AED 250 – 750 per person. Aside from customised culinary experiences, relaxing weekend getaways and adrenaline activities are on offer.

Does this concept tickle your fancy? What experiences would you like to see Lime & Tonic offer?

Cast my vote. I like the concept, the most extreme and wanted dining experience would be a lunch in Sheikh Palace with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum….okey if that is not on offer I could choose barefoot beach dinner at night under the stars with my better half and Italian food, lots of Italian food.

Minna, we will try our best and pull our strings! I think we may be pulling for a long time though. However will work on your barefoot beach dinner!
