Not just one Ramadan competition but three – brought to you by Braun

Dubai; Well with Ramadan and its generous spirit starting tomorrow, we’re bringing you one competition every week with a wealth of giveaways. You have Braun, the world-renowned, and oh so reliable German electrical goods manufacturer to say shukran to.

My favourite Iftar dish is one that brings back memories of family Iftars at my grandma’s. She used to make the most delicious Egyptian moussaka with mincemeat and her secret signature sauce, served along with a colorful array of traditional dishes such as stuffed vegetables (vineleaves-eggplant-courgettes-cabbage leaves) and delicious roasted turkey ofcourse. But her moussaka is the thing I miss the most, cos I would eat it hot or cold , with pita bread or rice and fresh salad.I’ve eaten and cooked many moussakas since then but nothing compares to Nana’s :O)

My Favourite Ramadan dish has to be the lovely Arabic sweet – Cheese Konfah sold in the lovely Arabic Sweet shops in Murragabat & Riqqa Street. The dish is very synonymous with the spirit of Ramadan as a dessert best enjoyed late in the night with a cup of Mint Tea.

Definetly Arabic cuisine would top the list of my best Ramadan cuisine. The mix of cold starters (Hummus, Motabel, Fatoush), hot starters (Kebbeh, Sambosa, Felafel) followed by a Mixed Grill main course woudl make it a complete Ramadan meal.
